Nincompoops or Nincompi?

Goodelf and Scousegit kept seeing ads for amazing concerts on ABC and couldn't work out why we couldn't see them where we live. Well, there must have been several conversations in the media about digital TV and we had been too busy to take any notice. Goodelf took the big step and searched the net and found that there is such a thing as ABC2 and amazingly it is free to air. She learnt a lot about devices called Set Top Boxes so Scousegit and Goodelf made a trip to Dick Smith's only to find they had one model on special.

Installation was relatively easy although Goodelf observed a certain allergy on behalf of Scousegit and Humungous to consulting a manual which was the cause of a few mild eruptions. Fantastic reception was the result for all but the ABC which we lost altogether. Scousegit climbed up to look at our antique aerial and found all the bolts were rusted and it was only hanging on by a mosquito's tweeter. The DIY brain started in overload but it was decided to call in an expert. A new aerial, amplifier and bypass of original wiring was necessary but now we've got all channels. Even Goodelf who at the best of times isn't all that keen on tele has to admit that the reception is unbelievable.

Tuesday night, at a reasonable viewing time, the Montreux Jazz Festival is on ABC2 - now that will be worth the effort.
