Baembae mi lukum yu

Today is lift off. A bit hard to believe and not without its dramas.

Yesterday Steve had to go to see the plastic surgeon to have his stitches out of his nose (he had a Basal Cell Carcinoma removed last week just to add to the last minute woes). Needless to say, after catching the bus into town in the heat which was somewhere approaching 35+, and having stitches removed which hurt regardless of what anyone tells you, he was rather knackered when he got home. After dinner, and a little bit of nudging he went to finish his packing. Next came the announcement that he couldn't find his jacket; a goretex, perfect weight and just what the doctor ordered for our type of travel. I thought he was joking, but soon realised he wasn't. We both searched every place known to man and cockroach to no avail. There are two possible solutions; either it was left at the dry cleaners, or it went out to Lifeline in one of the many bags that have been shovelled out the door. If the latter, there is someone somewhere with a smile on their face.

The bus picks us up at 11 am to take us to the airport. Am giving Gonzo lots of hugs. I'm sure he knows something is going on. Following advice from the experts, I have placed an item of Steve's and my clothing in his sleeping crate. This might, of course, serve to confuse him even more. He likes the Housesitters so that's a bonus and Huw and Hayley will be around a lot of the time.

A bientôt.

Stop press!!!! Steve rang the dry cleaners and the jacket is there. Unbelievable that it has been there since about last November and they haven't contacted us????!!! Perhaps there's a sideline in sales of second hand clothing?
